About me

Mícheál is Google Engineering Director in Ireland. He leads the Build teams in Google responsible for google3 (most of Google) and Bazel/Blaze -- Google has documented its philosophy on software development stacks (https://abseil.io/resources/swe-book). Mícheál was co-founder/CTO of FeedHenry, acquired by Red Hat in 2014. He has degrees in English, Computer Science, Speech & Language Processing and Education. He wrote a number of books on Perl web programming in the 1990s. His interests range from science fiction, medieval European and world history, through research and innovation policy to programming.
